Thame Museum

A lifelike model of a policeman

    • Located in what was previously the Magistrates Court, Thame Museum offers the visitor a wealth of local history - from the formation of New Thame in the 12th century to the modern 20th century developments. Items on display include a full set of 17th century trade tokens and a Saxon burial urn. At the heart of the museum, there is the Tudor Gallery, where splendid late Tudor wall paintings have pride of place. These were discovered in a house in Thame in 1972 and returned to Thame especially for the museum to display. The museum Community Room provides an ideal space for temporary exhbitions, which change throughout the year, for special ad hoc events and for our populuar monthly talks
